Replacing Windows Is a Snap With Renewal by Andersen
April 24, 2018If you want to update the look and feel of your home without the inconvenience of major renovations, installing attractive and energy-efficient Renewal by Andersen® replacement windows is an excellent option. Our nine-step process is easy, enjoyable and takes the stress out of this particular home improvement project. Read on to find out what to expect from start to finish when you choose our windows.
Step 1: Custom Pre-Installation Measurements
Every Renewal by Andersen replacement window is custom-made just for your home, so exact measurements are essential. Our factory-trained staff knows just what to do to achieve the most accurate results. They will schedule a time to visit your home at your convenience to take these measurements and make note of any other unique circumstances for the installation team.
Step 2: Custom-Made Windows
At our Renewal by Andersen production facility, one of the most modern window manufacturing plants in the country, these precise measurements allow our technicians to construct your windows to the exact specifications necessary for a flawless fit in your home.
Step 3: Hooray for Installation Day!
Once the windows are ready and have been transported to a Renewal by Andersen affiliate, it’s time to schedule your installation date! You pick the day, and our team will arrive promptly at the agreed-upon time, with the equipment, know-how and commitment to get the job done right – in some cases, that very day. Our installers are factory-certified and have been fully vetted and trained to do this important job.
Step 4: Home Protection
At Renewal by Andersen of Northeast PA, the protection of your home is just as important to us as it is to you. That’s why we take care to remove any furniture or valuables that could be damaged, cover vulnerable landscaping, and even wear protective footwear to prevent making a mess in your home.
Step 5: Out With the Old…
After everything is prepped, it’s time for the installation team to begin taking out your old windows. This is a noisy, dirty process, but our certified installers work hard to keep mess and noise to a minimum. Once removal is complete, the old windows will be hauled off-site and either disposed of or recycled.
Step 6: In With the New
To ensure that your new custom windows fit like a glove, our installers will adjust and level the window opening to prevent any cracks or gaps from forming. Installation of custom windows moves pretty quickly, and once they’re in place, we’ll check that the sashes slide smoothly, the locks latch snugly, and the opening mechanisms on casement windows function properly.
Step 7: Sealing Up the Gaps
No matter how straight and sure the frame, sometimes gaps arise in other areas, such as between the new windows and the frame of the house. Any such gaps found are filled by our installers with a special insulating foam, which expands to block drafts (and any other type of weather), ensuring a tight seal and an energy-efficient window.
Step 8: The Final Touch
For the finishing touch, our team will replace the interior and exterior trim around each window, lining it up carefully to conceal any insulating foam. Then, the layers of film protecting the panes of glass are removed.
Step 9: Cleanup
We believe in leaving your home cleaner than we found it. After we’ve cleaned up any dust or debris left behind from the job, we’ll not only move your furniture back to its proper place, we’ll also clean and shine the glass on your new windows. As a final courtesy, we’ll give you a run-through of how the windows work, making sure you’re completely comfortable with their function and operation. After that, they’re all yours to enjoy!
Step 10: Post-Installation Visit
At RbA Northeast PA, we add another important step: your post-installation visit. About a week after your installation is complete, a customer care representative will schedule a visit to once again review operation of your windows and go over your warranty package. Our goal is to continue our relationship and provide total peace of mind that you’ve made the best window replacement decision.
