Changing ENERGY STAR® standards for the Northern Zone have led Renewal by Andersen® to develop a groundbreaking new window coating system that meets and exceeds these stricter efficiency requirements. Why not bring in the new year by installing this uniquely innovative glazing system? Read on to find out more about Renewal’s most energy-efficient glass yet.
High Energy Efficiency
More stringent ENERGY STAR performance standards went into effect on January 1, 2016, leading to a greater need for higher efficiency windows. Renewal by Andersen’s product developers were ahead of the game with the introduction of High Performance SmartSun Low-E4® HeatLock Glass in late 2015, which gives you near triple-pane results in a dual-pane window.
Instead of reflecting heat off the glass – a desirable feature for glazing used in warmer climates – the HeatLock glazing system is designed to keep heat in. This is accomplished by applying a hard Low-E coating to the interior, room-facing surface of the glass, as well as a Low-E soft coat on the exterior surface of the window. This added room-side barrier is tough, long-lasting and returns heat back into the home, providing greater insulation from your Bethlehem patio doors and windows, and negating some of the home heating costs during frigid Northern Zone winters.
An additional benefit of HeatLock glass is its smooth and scratch-resistant finish. It also lets in almost as much natural light as Renewal by Andersen’s standard High-Performance SmartSun glass. All grille options remain available with this glass.
