Until now, being able to visualize what windows and replacement doors would look like in your home was a matter of having a good imagination. But thanks to Renewal by Andersen of Northeast PA’s new online visualization tool, the guesswork is now taken out of the equation!

Our Window & Door Visualizer enables you to upload photos of your own home so you can see how different window and door options will look from both the interior and exterior. If you prefer, you can also choose from 20 standard sample images to experiment with designs and make comparisons. Once you’ve created the perfect window and door configurations, they can be saved, printed and shared.

Multiple Customization Options

With a variety of window styles to choose from in several standard colors, along with three grille designs and various types of glass and screen combinations, it’s easy to customize a window design that works for your home. In addition, the same custom visualization process is available for patio doors. You can also mix and match combinations of one, two or three windows, selecting from available windows styles that include double-hung, awning, casement, gliding and sliding windows. Why HeatLock Glass?

Updated ENERGY STAR requirements for windows and doors took effect on January 1, 2015, with updated requirements for the Northern region going into effect on January 1, 2016. As ENERGY STAR requirements increase, Renewal by Andersen is working hard to develop products that are more energy-efficient.

In northern climates with high altitude requirements, not all High Performance glazing systems can perform at the more stringent 2016 levels. However, Renewal by Andersen’s SmartSun with HeatLock will meet and exceed compliance in all areas.

While other glazing systems are designed to reflect heat off windows in warm climates, High Performance SmartSun Low-E4® HeatLock Glass is also engineered to keep heat inside the home. Renewal by Andersen also just participated in the Central Susquehanna Builder’s Association Home Show in Bloomsburg and the Eastern Pennsylvania Spring Home Show, both held February 27 – March 1.  Prospective customers had the opportunity to stop by the Renewal by Andersen booth to ask questions and view samples.

When asked why Renewal by Andersen participates in so many Home Shows, Event Team Lead Andrea Hall replied, “We want to make the process of buying windows as easy as possible while helping you to learn who we are and what sets us apart from other window companies.  Home Shows help us do just that – we bring the showroom to YOU!”

So if you are thinking about replacement windows, a Home Show is a great place to start!  Here are some helpful tips for how to make the most out of your time at a home show:

• Create a list of features and benefits that are important to you, and jot them on a note in your phone or on paper and keep it in your pocket. Is it important that the windows are easy to clean? Do your windows have to all be a certain color? Do you want a window that will last a long time, or are you looking for a quick short-term solution?
• Don’t set an appointment with every company you speak to. You’ll wear yourself out after the second or third appointment. Pick and choose who has the features you are most interested in; typically after the second or third appointment you know which company you will go with.
• Be prepared to answer some ‘easy’ questions about your windows. How old they are, how many you have in your home and if there are currently any issues you are experiencing. This will enable the product representatives to better assess your current needs and offer a solution.
• Lastly, wear comfortable shoes! You’ll be walking, standing and talking a lot – so make sure you are comfortable.

On December 19, 2014, in a continued effort to make energy-saving retrofits more affordable for American homeowners, Congress extended the home improvements that fall under the Nonbusiness Energy Property Credit through 2014. This credit can be applied toward qualified energy efficiency improvements for a residence, including windows, doors and skylights. Here are more details:

• Homeowners can claim 10% of the price of eligible ENERGY STAR®-rated products, excluding labor and installation costs.
• The credit for these energy improvements is capped at $500. Windows are limited to $200 of the credit.
• You do not have to replace all the windows/doors/skylights in your home to qualify.
• Credits may only be claimed for improvements to an existing home; new construction is not eligible.
• If you claimed energy credits in prior tax years going back to 2006, the total credit for all years cannot exceed $500.

To request your 2014 Tax Letter outlining the product cost portion of your replacement window and door project, please send an e-mail to info@rbanepa18020.dev5.sociusinc.com with the subject line: “Tax Letter.”  Please include your name, address and phone number. It will be e-mailed or mailed promptly.

Download both the Renewal by Andersen Manufacturer’s Certification Statement and Renewal by Andersen NFRC Ratings (Energy Star v 5.0) for your 2014 tax return. For additional information about this credit and its limitations, please contact your tax advisor.

At this time, it’s unknown if legislation will be passed to extend the Nonbusiness Energy Property Credit to include tax year 2015.

The criteria to earn the Green Diamond Award are based upon homeowners’ responses to a satisfaction survey distributed after their Renewal by Andersen window replacement project has been completed. Affiliates must meet or exceed a minimum customer satisfaction rating of 95%, with a minimum of 50 surveys completed and a greater than 40% survey response rate. Renewal by Andersen of Northeast PA achieved the following milestones in 2014:

• 98% of homeowners indicated they were “Likely to Recommend” Renewal by Andersen of Northeast PA to friends, family or associates.
• Renewal by Andersen of Northeast PA led all six Green Diamond Award winners in net “Likely to Recommend” ratings and overall response rate.
• Renewal by Andersen of Northeast PA was one of only three affiliates in the nation to achieve Green Diamond status for two consecutive years.
